Not Fair!

Today while reading my devotional I came across these verses from Psalm 103:1-10

Praise the Lord, O my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, o my soul,
and forget not all his benefits-
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.
He made known his ways to Moses,
his deeds to the people of Israel;
The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love
He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;
he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.

How amazing is it that we serve a God who loves us even though we never deserve it from someone like Him, and who gives us grace and mercy no matter how bad we mess up? I agree with the writer of this devotional, I for one am glad that the Lord is not fair with his judgements.

"When was the last time we let mercy trump fairness with someone who offended us?"
A thought I definitely need to work on in my life, even though I don't often scream in rage, if someone offends me, then I have problems letting it go.
